How it works
What is BeMyDD?
A designated-driver service in Prince George. You drove somewhere and you have been drinking, so we send two drivers: one drives you home in your own vehicle, the other follows. You and your vehicle both end the night at home.
When and where do you drive?
In and around Prince George, Thursday and Sunday from 5 PM to 3 AM, and Friday and Saturday from 5 PM to 5 AM.
How do I book?
In the BeMyDD app, which is coming to iPhone and Android. There is no booking on this website. For an event, a wedding or a corporate night, call or email us for a quote.
The two-driver system
Why two drivers?
Driver A drives your vehicle home, and then needs a way back. Driver B follows in the crew car and picks Driver A up. That is why your car can come home with you.
Do I ride in my own car?
Yes. Driver A drives your vehicle and you sit in it as the passenger. You never ride in the crew car.
Who are the drivers?
Independent drivers who apply to BeMyDD and are approved by us before they take a trip. They work in pairs, and you see both of their names and their car in the app before they arrive.
Passenger limits
How many people can come with me?
As many as your vehicle has seatbelts for, less one for our driver. A five-seat car carries you and three others.
Is there an age limit?
The service is for adults 19 and over.
Can my friends be dropped off on the way?
Yes. Add a stop for each drop-off, up to 5 stops on one trip.
Vehicle requirements
What does my vehicle need?
It must be properly insured and safe to operate, with a working seatbelt for everyone who is riding.
Can you drive a manual?
Yes. Mark your car as a manual when you add it in the app and we match you with a driver who drives one.
I have a trailer or a large truck. Can you take it?
Yes. Choose it under special handling when you book (trailer attached, large truck, commercial vehicle, motorhome or RV, van) and we send a crew that is set up for it.
Multiple stops
Can we stop on the way home?
Yes. Add up to 5 stops in the app, when you book or during the trip.
What does a stop cost?
The extra distance is part of the fare, and time spent waiting at a stop is charged at the waiting rate. The app shows the new price before you confirm a stop.
Booking and cancellation
Can I book ahead?
Yes. Pick the date and time in the app and the trip is scheduled.
How do I pay?
By card in the app. A hold is placed when you book and the fare is charged once the trip is complete. A tip is optional at the end.
What if I need to cancel?
It is free until your crew is on the way. After that the fee is C$15 plus GST (C$15.75). Members get 3 free cancellations a month.
What if I am not at the pickup?
Your crew waits and you get reminders at 5 and 10 minutes. After 15 minutes with no contact the trip ends, and the base fare plus waiting is charged.
